Community
Being part of the community has been central to Robertsons since 1903. We support local charities, sponsor grassroots sport, give our people paid time to volunteer, and open our doors to organisations doing important work across South Wales and the South West. It's not a corporate initiative, it's who we are.
What does community look like at Robertsons?
Charity partnerships
We build long-term relationships with local charities, supporting their work through fundraising, attending events, and getting involved wherever we can make a difference.
Sponsorships
From women's football teams to local golf clubs, we sponsor grassroots sport and community organisations across South Wales and the South West.
Volunteer days
Every member of staff has a paid volunteer day each year to support a charity or community project of their choice, whether that's a specific initiative or just lending a hand where it's needed.
Lunch and learn
We invite organisations into our offices to talk to the team about topics that matter, from cancer awareness in the workplace to understanding visual impairment. It broadens perspectives and builds connections.
Charity events
Our people get stuck in, charity balls, fundraising challenges, cycle rides, and community events throughout the year. It's part of the culture.
Trustees
Several members of the firm serve as trustees of local charities, contributing their professional skills and experience to organisations doing vital work in the community.
Sight Life
Supporting independence for people living with sight loss
Sight Life — known as Cardiff Institute for the Blind until 2019 — has been supporting blind and partially sighted people since 1865, making it one of the oldest charities in Wales. From its base in central Cardiff, it provides help and advice across much of South Wales, supporting people who are newly diagnosed as well as those who have lived with sight loss for years, along with their families, friends and carers.
Our partnership with Sight Life has grown year on year. Members of the team have taken on their cycle challenge, we've hosted lunch and learn sessions on understanding visual impairment, and we continue to look for new ways to support their work.
