We are in search of a typist/receptionist in our Barry office. This vital role involves managing and enhancing client relationships, overseeing the delivery of top-tier legal services, and playing a key part in the firm’s overall strategy for client services.

Hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Start Date: With Immediate Effect

Salary: £23,000 p.a

We are seeking a highly organised, efficient, and professional Typist/Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our firm, as it supports our legal staff by ensuring that all typing duties are completed accurately and efficiently, and by managing the front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent typing skills, a friendly and professional demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Typing and formatting legal documents, correspondence, and reports with high accuracy and speed.
  • Answering, screening, and directing incoming calls with professionalism; taking messages as necessary.
  • Greeting and assisting clients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Scheduling appointments and maintaining an organised calendar for attorneys.
  • Handling mail and email correspondence, ensuring timely distribution and response.
  • Maintaining the reception area, conference rooms, and common spaces to ensure a professional appearance.
  • Assisting with the preparation of presentation materials and legal documents.
  • Performing general clerical duties, including photocopying, faxing, filing, and data entry.
  • Coordinating with various departments and external agencies as required.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and security of all firm and client information.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a typist, receptionist, or similar role, preferably in a legal or professional office setting.
  • Exceptional typing speed and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal document management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Professional appearance and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
