Secured Lending Legal Assistant

We have two exciting role for a legal assistant in our secured lending department.

You will support our legal team by performing a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the office. Our secured lending department works with financial organisations and your role will include supporting the team in providing reports on title, working with the clients to ensure all matters are ready for completion and then working on post-completion work with the land registry.

You will work from our Cardiff Office

The role

Location: Cardiff

Contract Type: Full-time (but we will also consider part-time)

Hours: 9am – 5pm – Monday – Friday

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: To be confirmed

Key Responsibilities:

Case Handling:

  • Assist qualified staff and other legal professionals with daily administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and organise case files.
  • Track case progress and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with clients and other parties involved in cases.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing enquiries.

Client Relationships

  • Liaise with the Client Services Manager when necessary.
  • Meet client service standards and service levels agreements.
  • Provide a service to ensure clients are retained.
  • Handle any complaints effectively and in line with the complaint’s procedure.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the firm’s clients.
  • Seek feedback from the firm’s clients.
  • Meet client commitments.
  • Manage client expectations.
  • Respond to clients effectively.

Business Development

  • Liaise with the Marketing & Business Development Manager when necessary.
  • Take active involvement in any marketing strategy for your team.
  • Maintain relationships with key clients.
  • Cross sell other divisions and departments where appropriate.
  • Maintain an appropriate Social Media presence.
  • Where appropriate and when required by your Head of Department, attend marketing and networking activities.

Teamwork

  • Work with your immediate team.
  • Work with the wider firm.
  • Assist colleagues to meet departmental targets and/or SLAs.
  • Cover duties of colleagues in their absence.

Practice Management

  • Comply with the Firms procedures including quality, risk, money laundering, Lexcel, CQS, etc.
  • Effectively prioritise workload.
  • Meet deadlines and targets.
  • Anticipate and plan for change where appropriate

Personal Development

  • Liaise with Head of Department.
  • Liaise with HR Manager.
  • Proactively participate at your appraisal and review meetings.
  • Seek out more complex work within own capabilities and capacity.

Skills and Qualifications:

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools

– Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

– Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
